秋と言えばお月見様ですよね🌕なんで一年中月を見ることができるのに9月になるとお月見という言葉をよく聞くのか、イギリス人の彼が私に尋ねてきました。日本人である私は即答出来ませんでした。Google先生に聞きこんな答えが返ってきました。
お月見は、秋の澄んだ夜空に浮かぶ美しい月を鑑賞し、豊かな実りに感謝するとともに、翌年の豊作を願う行事です。
確かに9月の月は大きく見えますね。空気が澄んでよく見えます🌕
9月の前半は暑かったので9月になったという実感がなかったのですが、やっと涼しくなって秋らしくなってきました🍂
そこで無性に食べたくなったのがマックの月見バーガー
これを見るだけで秋が来たという感じです。
バンズがとてもふわふわで美味しく、すき焼きだれと卵の相性が抜群でした。すき焼きといえば、薄切り牛肉を甘辛いタレで焼き、生卵に付けて食べる日本ならではの料理です。照焼バーガーは以前からありますが、すき焼きバーガーは新しく、食べながらとてもワクワクしました。
日本には季節ごとに限定の食べ物が数多くあります。その時期にしか味わえない特別な味わいを、季節ならではの風景や景色とあわせて楽しんでみてください。
Autumn Tradition 🍂 Tsukimi Burger (McDonald’s)
Speaking of autumn, it’s all about Otsukimi (moon viewing) 🌕.
My British boyfriend asked me, “Why do we hear the word Otsukimi so often in September, even though we can see the moon all year round?”
As a Japanese person, I couldn’t answer right away. So I asked Google-sensei, and here’s the answer I found.
Otsukimi is a traditional event where people admire the beautiful moon floating in the clear autumn night sky, give thanks for the harvest, and pray for a good harvest in the following year.
It’s true that the moon looks especially big in September—the crisp autumn air makes it shine even more clearly 🌕.
The first half of September was still so hot that it didn’t really feel like September at all. But now it’s finally cooling down and starting to feel like autumn 🍂.
And that’s when I suddenly craved a Tsukimi Burger from McDonald’s!
The buns were super soft and delicious, and the combination of the sukiyaki sauce and egg was perfect.
Speaking of sukiyaki, it’s a classic Japanese dish where thinly sliced beef is cooked in a sweet and savory sauce and eaten with raw egg.
While teriyaki burgers have been around for a while, the sukiyaki burger is new, and it was really exciting to eat!
In Japan, there are many seasonal foods available only at certain times of the year.
